Abstract

This paper aims to study the impact of the green credit policy on the employment of the labor force, and conducts an empirical analysis by selecting the microdata of listed companies in the 10 years from 2010 to 2020. As an important means to promote green development, the green credit policy is of great significance to the economy and society. However, at present, there are relatively few relevant studies in China, and the impact mechanism on employment has not been deeply analyzed. This paper finds that by guiding enterprises to invest in environmental protection technologies and clean production, the green credit policy affects the scale of employment, and its impact on the quality of employment is reflected in optimizing the industrial structure, enhancing the technological capabilities of enterprises, and promoting environmental protection investments. Empirical analysis shows that this policy has a significant positive impact on the scale and quality of labor employment, can promote the development of the green industry, create more employment opportunities, and improve the quality of employment. At the same time, the implementation effect of the policy is regulated by the intensity of environmental law enforcement, and there is heterogeneity in the impact on the employment of the labor force in different types of enterprises and regions, and it also has a significant impact on the employment structure.
