About This Special Issue
The Special Issue should be dedicated to the 140th birthday anniversary of Alexandre Javakhishvili – a famous Georgian geographer and anthropologist, the Academician of Georgian Academy of Sciences and honored worker of Georgian Science (http://aljavakhishvili-2015.tsu.ge/). He contributed to the introduction and development of the geographical science in Georgia, as well as establishment of Institute of Geography and Geographical Society of Georgia. During the entire period of his working at the Tbilisi State University he organized Department of Geography and Anthropology, scientific-research and educational study unites, Geographical Museum and library. His students and scientific followers are working in the different branches of geography and anthropology.

So, in the Special Issue of the journal should be discussed modern problems of geography and anthropology. It is to track the development trends of different fields of researches and make some contributions to the development of this in modern time.

The special issue should encompass a broad spectrum of geography and anthropology, therefore, several areas have been identified which will be given particular priority: Physical Geography, Human Geography, Political Geography, Landscape Sciences, Ecology and Environmental Studies, Historical Geography, Toponymy, State Borders, Cartography and Information Technology Applications in Geography, Biological anthropology, Social anthropology, Cultural anthropology, Ethnology, other related subjects.

All manuscripts should be original, and have not been published previously. Also, the manuscripts should be done in the form of original and review papers, or as short notes.

Aims and Scope:

1. To publish the most exciting and significant researches with respect to the subject of Geography and Anthropology.
2. To share the international experiences, knowledge and research results about all aspects of geography and anthropology, and the earth sciences in general.
3. To honour the memory of famous Georgian geographer and anthropologist, the Academician Alexandre Javakhishvili and celebrate his greatest contribution to the development of geographical and anthropological science.
