About This Special Issue
This special issue "Bio-electronics: Biosensors, Biomedical signal processing, and Organic engineering" intends to reinforce the interdisciplinarity between Bioscience and Bioengineering. This issue will give the opportunity to researchers to present significant developments, results, and theories and to share their experience on a central topic of Bio-engineering - that is Bio-electronics.

The scope of this special issue is to enhance and to extend the Bio-electronics comprehension / topic, inviting much more complementary researchers to express their various opinions, implications and problems, contributing to new additional concepts, trends or knowledge, in the back way to Bioscience.

The issue offers a large palette for contributors in many topics like: Biosensors, Biosignal and signal processing, Organic electronic; also adjacent topics are welcome: enzyme immobilization techniques, immuno-assays, nanomaterials for biosensor, living matter analysis and characterization from the electrical point of view, bio-mimetic and the list can go on.

This issue is dedicated to more research and discussion starting from bioelectronics and spreading to multiple applications. Therefore, the contributors are invited to emphasize new products development, besides to benefits on health, environment or technologies.

This issue will contain state-of-the-art reviews, original research or brief papers covering outstanding and most recent research in all the major fields of Bio-electronics, expecting new topic, too.

1. Biosensors - from electronics transducer and integrated microelectronic technology, to material science and new integration techniques.
2. Biosignal - from cellular source to electrophysiological interpretation, including physiological measurements and signal processing.
3. Organic materials used in electron devices or in biosensors.
4. New technologies for biosensors: enzyme immobilization techniques, immuno-assays, nanomaterials for biosensor, others.
5. Living matter analysis, characterization or modeling from the electrical point of view.
6. Bio-mimetic interfered by electronics.
7. Biomedical electronics.
8. Biosensors for environmental applications.
9. Health care electronic engineering.
10. Technologies transfer from microelectronics to integrated biosensors.
11. Bio-modeling, including new aspects and theories.
