About This Special Issue
Universal and multiple functional interface technologies can become the physical key for flexible and reconfigurable space robots, which need to be adaptable for different tasks found in many space missions. The extended use of such space robotic interfaces in a space system will also enable physical flexible configurations and reconfigurations of many space systems. As an example, the use of such interfaces for the flexible reconfiguration of satellites is fundamental to the creation of modular and serviceable satellites in future, in which standard interfaces that groups mainly mechanical, electrical, data and thermal connections are used to both reconfiguration and serviceability. The use of these interfaces can hence provide a critical linking between a target space system such as a satellite and a manipulating space robot.

Aims and Scope:

  1. space robotics
  2. space interface
  3. standard interface
  4. orbital missions
  5. orbital payload
  6. modularity
