About This Special Issue
Territorial development policies in urban and spatial planning have evolved considerably in recent years. Environmental planning in Europe and the problems existing in the countries in process of development require a deep analysis on policy and results of the actions taken. This special issue focuses on the various proposals and cases studies developed in Europe and North America in the last forty years, and the current problems existing in countries where strong growth in South America, Asia and Africa. The relationship between territorial management and environmental planning varies greatly depending on the countries and cities, so this special issue aims to provide an overview of which are currently being problems in the world and what are the challenges for the future.
