About This Special Issue
The world has changed rapidly and the necessity of promoting education in a sustainable world is imperative. The UN sustainable goals direct us to the 17 aims that we have to focus on in order to reduce carbon credits, promote prosperity to the world, and protect the planet as well. Thus, developing renewable technologies and preparing the future citizen for a more collaborative society is today's educator´s obligation.
Meanwhile, education has changed a lot. Despite distance education having been pointed out as more inclusive education for the last 10 years or more, the necessity of maintaining social distance with theCOVID-19 advent forced educators all around the world to conceptualization of distance education, since they had to move from a presential education to an online mode as a snap of a finger. The defiance of engaging our students in the most adverse conditions has been a constant discussion theme whether presential or online mode; however, the problem of accessibility in poor countries caught our eyes and amplified the social and economic differences in the cited period.
On the other hand, we have to detach that some of the technologies that were implanted and developed in this period will remain among us from now on, such as reducing circulation of printed documents, online active learning activities, means of evaluation, and so on. Educators learned so much in such a short time. This special edition is an invitation to get together recent works and actions that have been made in order to prepare today's students for a more inclusive future. Works that aimed to develop these feelings in your students or new techniques in education that promoted a sustainable world will be welcome to this Special Edition.
