Abstract: Formula granule (FG), as an improved preparation form of traditional liquid dedoction, is of increasing interest and hence it is necessary to develop facile analytical or discrimination methods. Based on the established 3-Stage IR method, a new external disturbance of lab environment (LE) in which room temperature (RT) is 25-30°C and humidity is 25-30%, is introduced to test its applicability in discrimination of Danggui formula granules from different companies in which the LE is used to affect the prepared KBr pellet to produce enough variations for the 3S-IR method. Firstly, the 2D-spectra and pattern recognition algorithm of principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) are used to select the analytical basis for 2D-COS IR. Secondly, LE-based 2D-COS IR is used for the discrimination. The newly-established LE-based IR can avoid the complex parts of programmed temperature and sampling in IR instrument, and achieve the discrimination of different Danggui Formula Granules.

Abstract: In recent years, studies of a number of foreign scientists have been reported on the possibility of using loess loam as the main constituent of the ceramic composition in the production of clinker brick. Loess loam is considered a common raw material. In this paper, we consider the purpose, which is research on the study and development of methods that regulate the physicochemical processes occurring in the mass of loess-like loam under the influence of temperature. As a result of these studies it will be possible to intensify thermochemical processes and achieve high-quality products with minimal energy costs.

Abstract: A series of cationic polyurethane surfactant [PQ14, PQ16 and PQ18] were synthesized by the reaction of alkyl bromoacetate (namely: tetradecyl-, hexadecyl- and octadecyl bromoacetate) as quaternizing agents and modified polyurethane contains tertiary amine species. Modified polyurethane was prepared by the reaction of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and Triethanol amine mono mercaptoacetate. Grinding method is used to synthesize copper and nickel nanoparticles which stabilized by Cationic Thiol polyurethane surfactants. The chemical structures of the prepared surfactants were confirmed using elemental analysis, FTIR, UV and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The molecular weight measurements of the prepared polymers showed that the segments of each polymer contain average 10 units of the urethane-Triethanol amine mercaptoacetate. The surface activities of the prepared surfactants including: surface tension (g), effectiveness (πcmc), concentration at micelle formation (CMC), efficiency (Pc20), maximum concentration at the interface (Gmax), average area occupied by each surfactant molecule at the interface at equilibrium (Amin) of surfactants solutions were established at 25°C. The surface tension and the critical micelle concentration values of the prepared surfactants were gradually decreased by the gradual increase of their alkyl chain length. Antimicrobial activity of the synthesized cationic surfactants and their nanostructure with copper and nickel nanoparticles were evaluated against pathogenic bacteria and fungi. The antimicrobial activity showed the enhancement in the antimicrobial activity of the synthesized cationic surfactants in the nanostructures form.

Abstract: Cancer has become one of the most dangerous diseases and is the leading cause of death in economically developed countries and the second leading cause of death in developing countries. Many indigenous plants are used in herbal medicine to cure various diseases and heal injuries. The use of medicinal plants has become essential due to the presence of several bioactive substances and their availability. Most chemotherapeutic drugs for cancer treatment are molecules identified and isolated from plants or their synthetic derivatives. Anticancer agents from plants currently in clinical use are categorized into four main classes of compounds including; epipodophylltoxins, taxanes camptothecins, and vinca alkaloids. This paper discussed the factors responsible for, different forms of cancer, as well as organs or parts it affect. The paper also explored some Nigerian medicinal plants with anticancer agents. Seventeen medicinal plants were mentioned and confirmed to possess bioactive constituents responsible for cancer therapy.
