Abstract: The study investigated the prevalence of conduct disorder among secondary school adolescents and examined the relationship between socio-demographic factors (such as sex, age, school type, and family type) and conduct disorder among secondary school adolescents in Ondo State Nigeria. Primary data, sourced through the administration of questionnaire, were used in the study. The population for the study was the over 10,000 secondary school adolescents in Ondo State Nigeria. A sample of 420 was selected through a multistage sampling procedure using Cochran’s sample size determination formula (385). The instrument used in collecting data for the study were the Conduct Disorder Scale – CDS and a section measuring the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents. Collected data were subjected to descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics was used to analyse the prevalence of conduct disorder, while correlational analysis was computed to draw inferences (showing existing relationships among the variables) on the population for the variables under study. Results showed a prevalence rate of 14.5% for conduct disorder among the secondary school adolescents in Ondo State, Nigeria. Results further showed a significant relationship between some socio-demographic variables and conduct disorder. The study concluded gender and type of school influence conduct disorder among secondary school adolescents in Ondo state, Nigeria.

Abstract: Rodent self-grooming comprises behaviors devoted to caring of the body surface; presentations that have apparent stereotyped and recurring characteristics which makes rodent grooming a appropriate translational tool for studying the effects of substance abuse in humans. Two opioids, codeine and tramadol, both used for the relief of mild to moderately severe pain but overtime has been abused by people to relieve emotional pain were considered in this study. 54 male and female albino rats (24 females and 30 males) with weight ranging from 120g-180g rats were assigned to three experimental groups (codeine, tramadol and combined group) and one control group. In the study, 6 rats were assigned per group. Rats in the codeine group were orally administered 8mg/kg of codeine while rats in the tramadol group were administered with 20mg/kg of tramadol. Rats in the combined group were administered both 8mg/kg of codeine and 10mg/kg of tramadol. Female rats exposed to chronic intake of Tramadol only (Mean =3.14) were found to significantly displayed more body licking grooming behavior compared to female rats administered Codeine only (Mean = 1.33), combination of Codeine and Tramadol (mean = .67) and the control (mean =1.79) (p < .001). Whereas, male rats in the control (mean = 4.23) significantly displayed more body licking grooming behavior compared to male rats administered Codeine only (mean = 3.01), Tramadol only (mean = 3.35), and the combination of Codeine and Tramadol (mean = 2.49) (p < .05). Also, female rats exposed to chronic intake of Codeine only (mean = 4.92), significantly displayed more daily face washing grooming behavior compared to female rats administered Tramadol only (mean = 3.33), combination of Codeine and Tramadol (mean = 3.29) and the control group (mean = 4.76) (p < .001). Whereas, male rats exposed to chronic intake of Codeine only (mean = 4.92), significantly displayed more daily face washing grooming behavior compared to male rats administered Tramadol only (mean = 3.33), combination of Codeine and Tramadol (mean = 3.29) and the control group (mean = 4.76) (p < .001). The findings demonstrated that chronic administration of opioids, codeine and tramadol affected grooming behaviors i.e. face washing and body licking behaviors which are related to possible deterioration of physical appearance and personal grooming habits in humans. Hence, the study suggests that further exploration to unravel the risks related to the consistent consumption of codeine and tramadol on other body systems be considered.

Abstract: Social workers need to have certain skills to provide the best services for their clients. Therefore, assessing the status of professional practice skills of social work students in practice is a necessary task that can help managers of training institutions to have timely accurate information on the quality of training to change and adjust to improve the quality of training. On the other hand, the results of the research on practical skills of social work students will also help schools to review the connection and orientation between training institutions and the actual requirements of professional activities. This study aims to discover the status of professional practice skills of social work students in Vietnam. 174 students studying social work at the Colleges of Social Work in Thua Thien Hue, Soc Trang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City participated in the survey. A questionnaire and a situational judgement test are used to survey the performance of professional practice skills of social work students during their internship. The results of the study show that performance of professional practice skills of social work students during the internship initially is quite well. The professional practice skills performed best by students are the client access and assessment and self-test and self-assessment skills. The skills that students did not perform well are connecting resources and making support plans. Therefore, the academic subjects related to client support services should be paid more attention to in the training program. The author also recommends that training institutions strengthen exchanges between social work experts and students to help students improve their professional skills.
