Abstract: The manufacturing sector accounts for approximately sixteen percent of Gross Domestic Product and fourteen percent of employment globally, but its relative size in an economy varies with the stage of development. In Kenya, a strong manufacturing base is considered the foundation upon which long-lasting economic frameworks can be made. The automotive industry is one of the most competitive industries in the manufacturing sector in Kenya today with significant contribution to the Gross Domestic Product. However, data from the Kenya Motor Industry Association has shown that performance of motor vehicles assemblers is on a decline as indicated by the fall in volume of sales reported annually. This study sought to investigate the effect corporate reputation on performance of motor vehicle assemblers. The research variables in this study are underpinned on the resource-based view of the firm. The investigation was guided by descriptive research design. The study targeted a population comprising of employees of motor vehicle assemblers and sought to make field observations on a sample of management employees that was randomly selected using proportionate stratified sampling. Primary data for the investigation was collected using a structured questionnaire. Validity of the questionnaire was assessed and confirmed using opinion from experts and review of relevant literature. A pilot study was carried out using fifteen employees to support the test of reliability of the questionnaire. Descriptive statistics was analyzed using frequencies, percentages, mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation. Similarly, inferential statistics was analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. The found out that corporate reputation was found to have a statistically significant effect on performance. Abstract: Commercialization of research results plays an important role in the socio-economic development of a country based on science, technology and innovation. In Vietnam, promoting the commercialization of research results is concerned by the Party and the State, institutionalized under the Resolution, Law, Decree and guiding Circulars. However, in recent years, universities have recorded the limited number of research results commercialization and the low transaction value, which have not achieved the objectives as expected. The process of commercializing research results in universities encounters difficulties, including the limited quality of research results, the weak linkage between universities and enterprises, and the limited access to capital resources to develop inventions. This paper not only focuses on analyzing the situation of commercialization of research results in universities and colleges, we also propose solutions to promote commercialization of inventions, technical solutions formed from the universities, suitable to the conditions of Vietnam. In order to succesfully commercialize research results in universities, it is necessary to consider various conditions: (i) Commercialization of research results in universities must derive from the needs of society; (ii) Commercialization of research results must be an urgent, self-motivated need of universities and individual scientists, the State only sponsors, supports, incentives, encourages and promotes commercialization activities through creating favorable legal corridors.

Abstract: The research of ethical leadership has emerged as an important topic in relation to understanding the effects of leadership within an organization. Besides, in the last decades, there are numerous studies have been done that investigate some extra role behaviors, their antecedents, and consquences. Though voice behavior is not required in one’s job, it can contribute directly to the organizational contextual performance and indirectly to the job performance of individual employee as well as the performance of the whole organization. In this study, we propose that leader-member exchange (LMX) as a mechanism reflecting how ethical leadership affects the voice behavior of employees. We develop a mediation model of the psychological processes linking perceptions of ethical leadership and employee voice. This study examined the relationship between ethical leadership, leader-member exchange and the two components of voice behavior, defined as promotive voice and prohibitive voice, using a sample of 1238 supervisor-subordinate dyads from Vietnamese service firms. Results showed that ethical leadership related positively to promotive voice and prohibitive voice. In addition, leader-member exchange mediated the relationship between ethical leadership and promotive voice as well as prohibitive voice. Limitations of the study, directions for future research, and implications of the findings are discussed.

Abstract: This study examines the effect of North East Food Security and Livelihood Emergency Support Project (NEFSLESP) on Women Farmers’ Income and Employment in Fika LGA of Yobe State, Nigeria. Specifically, the study examines the effect of the project (NEFSLESP) on women farmers’ income and employment status and effect of farm inputs on women farmers’ output in Fika LGA of Yobe State. The structured questionnaire was administered to 121 women farmers, all were duly filled and returned. The reason behind 100% return rate of the questionnaire was that the number of women beneficiaries of NEFSLESP is not large enough. This allows researchers with the help of research assistants to consult everyone of them. The study considered all population (121) of women beneficiaries in the project due to the fact that the population is not large enough to adopt any sampling technique. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The paired samples t-tests shows that the project had significant effects on income and employment of women farmers in the study area. The multiple regression result also revealed that cost of labour (CLAB) was the only explanatory variable that has significant effect on farm output. The study recommends that NFDP should extend its project to areas where it does not exist in order to boost income level and reduce unemployment problem among women and should redesign its project in a manner that will provide large effect on participants’ income and employment status.

Abstract: Under the macro background of the continuous deterioration of the international trade environment, the policy of “One Belt and One Road” is deeply constructed, and new industrialization and urbanization are highly integrated [1]. According to the single model of eastward opening-up, the purpose is to eliminate some unfavorable effects, including the aggravated trade frictions, the recessional resource-based industries, the extensive promotion between informatization and industrialization and the uneven regional economic development [2]. Under this circumstance, Sichuan has successively launched a series of major countermeasures for the implementation of regional openness, undertaking of industry transition, and the international cooperation on production capacity. In light of the internal relationship between “going global” and “bringing in” strategy, the research analyzes the necessity, feasibility and regularity of the transition from the Inland Resource Economy (IRE) to the Inland Open Economy (IOE). It reveals that the basic connotation and formative mechanism of the "going global" IOE. The research method is comparative analysis of two regional development models, including the basic conditions, main objectives, core contents, industrial patterns and realizable way. This article demonstrates that rationality of the stages and applicability of regions, how the output of production capacity replaces output of factors, and how a resource-driven mode changes to an openness-driven mode.
