Abstract: This study empirically examined the interlace between leaders’ normative isomorphic pressure response and survivability of telecommunication firms in Nigeria. The theoretical foundation of the study was based on the organizational embeddedness theory. The study adopted the cross-sectional survey design with a population of 198 executive and managerial staff of the four telecommunication firms in Nigeria. Given the manageable population size, the census sample size determination technique was adopted. The study data were gathered using structured questionnaire which was validated by expert review. In order to confirm the reliability of the study instrument, the Cronbach alpha test was conducted with all variables having coefficients above the 0.7 threshold. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficient was used to assess the interlace between the study variable with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 21.0. The study discovered that leaders’ normative isomorphic pressure response positively and significantly interlaces with survivability measured by innovation and growth. Consequently, the study concludes that through the positive response of organizational leaders, telecommunication firms in Nigeria as affirmed by various professional bodies within the confines of their operational requirements, become progressively aware of global best practices in the world of business which in the long run validate their social legitimacy standing, and enhancing their chances of survivability goal attainment. Thus, the study recommends that the leaders of telecommunication firms in Nigeria should always encourage their staff members to regularly apply their respective professional ethical codes in the discharge of their daily work roles in the organization.

Universities need the right kind of organizational culture which is a key element of strategy implementation process. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of organizational culture on corporate strategy implementation in Private chartered universities in Kenya. The competing values framework was adopted to identify the organizational culture types that are displayed in Private chartered universities. The study adopted a positivist view as it aimed at testing hypotheses derived from a predetermined conceptual framework. Cross-sectional survey research design was adopted and it used both quantitative and qualitative data as it seeks the effect of organizational culture on the implementation of corporate strategy. The accessible population included Registrars, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, academic staff, and students’ leaders. This study used both stratified random sampling and the target sample size was 198 employees. A pilot testing of 42 participants of the sample population was conducted to improve on validity and reliability. Data from questionnaires was organized, coded, analyzed and converted into quantitative summary reports for analyses using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 21 as the tool in order to describe the relationships between dependent and independent variables. The study used correlation and regression techniques as well as the analysis of variance (ANOVA) to test the study hypotheses. Correlation analysis was used to determine the effect of organizational culture and corporate strategy implementation in Private chartered universities in Kenya by computing Pearson product moment correlation. A multiple linear regression model was also used to derive inferential statistical indicators like the correlation, coefficient of determination, F-statistics, t-test statistic and the p-value. In this research content analysis method was used to analyze qualitative data. Pearson’s correlation analysis was used to test for the existence of multicollinearity. The key finding based on the tests conducted in the study was that the explanatory variables; Market culture and Hierarchy culture had effect on the response variable (Implementation of corporate strategy in Private chartered universities in Kenya).

Abstract: In order to boost up the economic growth of any country, Exports should be considered as key factor as it contributes immensely in which Sierra Leone as a nation is no exception. Therefore, this research paper target to investigate the effect of export on the economic growth of Sierra Leone using time series data of exports and the gross domestic products ranging from 1990- 2019 which was source from the World Bank Indicators. In order to accomplish the aim of this paper, descriptive statistics, regression, correlation, Augmented Dickey- Fuller Unit root test, Johansen cointegration test, Vector Auto regression model, diagnostic test and the Pair- wise Granger causality test were the tools used to analyze the data. Based on the results from both regression analysis, it can be seen that export has a significant positive effect on the economic growth of Sierra Leone. Augmented Dickey-Fuller unit root test results shows existence of stationarity at first difference was detected, while the cointegration test results revealed that, there is no relationship between the exports and economic growth. However, the Vector Auto regressive model test revealed that, exports have a significant effect on the economic growth as well. Granger causality test, shows that both exports influence the Gross Domestic Product of Sierra leone.

Abstract: The core focus of the study is to investigate the impact of European crises on commodity and world stock market indices. To investigate the impact during and after crisis, the technique of threshold has been applied to make a complex network from the cross-correlations of the returns of 46 daily time series comprising of 23 global stock market indices and 23 commodity futures from 2010 to 2014. The networks are fragmented with the increase of threshold and the study detects a sturdy association between commodities and stock indices at high threshold during severe crisis of 2011. The dynamic of inter-links between two groups at threshold 0.1 show dissimilar behavior with the dynamic of inter-degrees of individual group of commodities with stock indices. The change of intra-degrees among individual groups of stock and commodities demonstrates that the effect of Cypriot crisis in first half of 2013 on financial indices is more shocking than those of commodity futures. The dynamic of clustering coefficient identifies that Asian financial indices and index of agricultural sector under commodity market are more responsive during as well as after crises. Finally, we propose a definition to measure the states of the network artifact. Identifying the dynamic movement of market state and network structure can be useful as an early warning of upcoming crisis and portfolio investment.

Abstract: This paper examines the effect of banking sector reforms on the growth of agricultural output in Nigeria from 1986 to 2019, with the specific objective of determining the extent to which aggregate bank credit to the agricultural sector (ABCAS), which was expected to be occasioned by banking sector reforms, in conjunction with other reform variables, impacted output growth in the agricultural sector in the period under study. The study utilizes 34 years annual time series data obtained from NBS and CBN data bases. Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS), technique, Breusch–Godfrey LM test of autocorrelation and the ARCH test were used to ascertain the short and long run relationships among ABCAS, DMBLDR, IRS and ASOP. Hypotheses are tested at 5% level of significance. Results show that 96% of the variation in the dependent variable, judging by the Adjusted R2, is attributable to the combined effect of the independent variables. Analysis also reveals that aggregate bank credit to the agricultural sector, (ABCAS), and real effective exchange rate, (REER), exhibit positive and significant relations with agricultural output growth with co-efficient of 29.01 and 33.10 respectively. The study therefore canvasses for banking system structure that prioritizes agricultural financing anchored on manufacturing: – (agro-business; focus), to engender agricultural value-chain creation and enhancement, preferably targeting export of finished agro-allied products.

Abstract: This study empirically explored the effect of environmental sustainability cost on the financial position of quoted manufacturing firms in Nigeria with evidence from the healthcare sector. In achieving the research target, the study estimated the effect of community development cost, employee benefit cost and raw material cost on the profit after tax of the selected healthcare manufacturing sector. Research design adopted was ex-post facto design while analytical tools employed were descriptive statistics and vector auto regression analysis techniques. Relevant diagnostic tests such as panel unit root (stationarity) test and co-integration test. Findings revealed that environmental sustainability cost operationalized by community development cost, employee benefit cost and raw material cost contributes positively to the long-run sustainable growth and development of healthcare manufacturing firms in Nigeria. On this background, the study suggested that healthcare manufacturing firms in Nigeria should consider investing in their workers through engaging them in various educational training and other beneficial skills for improved performance and organizational productivity. The firms should equally consider investment in community development projects of their host communities since they lead to more patronage which makes the company to thrive.
