Abstract: This article is a literature study of the Sovereign Wealth Fund as a large fund owner and an investor in various destination countries. SWF is the target of countries and companies that want fresh funds as capital inflow to finance their activities, both as direct investors and buyers of bonds and stocks. SWF has become an important investor and as a holder of various portfolios it aims to obtain optimal returns with minimal risk, including the placement strategy of Sovereign Wealth Fund as part of a hedge against the economic risks of the countries holding SWF funds. The Sovereign Wealth Fund's largest strategic asset allocation shows that it is broadly consistent with that generated by the Markowitz model. Investment performance and company performance as well as the policies of the SWF destination countries are the main factors in the placement of funds. The choice of investment is very dependent on the assets associated with the asset class, risk tolerance and the strategy mandated to achieve the stated portfolio goals. Includes proper asset weight balancing that allows for higher returns and long-term achievement of investment objectives.

Abstract: The insurance companies constitute a fundamental building block of the global financial system that provides opportunities for hedging against an assortment of risks and as well serve as institutional investors thus promoting sustainability and growth of national economies. Despite the significant role played by the insurance industry in supporting the national economy, there has been a notable decrease in insurance penetration trend. Similarly, the insurance industry has registered an increase in the number of complaints lodged by customers in relation to delayed settlement, erroneous deductions, and unsatisfactory offers. This study therefore sought to investigate the effect of assimilation capacity on performance of insurance companies in Nairobi City County, Kenya. The study was grounded on systems theory and dynamic capabilities theory. Explanatory research design were adopted in this study. The target population of this study comprised of 59 insurance companies operating in Nairobi City County. Cross-sectional data were collected using a semi-structured questionnaire from 216 heads of functional areas in 27 insurance companies which were selected using proportionate stratified random and simple random sampling. Face, construct and content validity of the research instrument were confirmed accordingly. A pilot study was conducted to aid in the statistical test of reliability using Cronbach alpha index of at least 0.7. Administration of the questionnaire was done using drop-and-pick later method. The study had a response rate of 81 percent. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive analysis involved the use of frequency count, percentages, sample mean, sample standard deviation and coefficient of variation. Test of assumptions of linear regression analysis was performed. Linear regression analysis was used to estimate the population parameters and facilitate testing of hypotheses at 95 percent level of confidence. Results of data analysis were presented in tabular form as well as using figures. Qualitative data were analysed using content analysis. The study found out that assimilation capacity has a positive effect on organizational performance. The human resources managers should provide policy guidelines in support of activities that promote internalization of knowledge through simulation as this has potential to strengthen the contribution of assimilation capacity in insurance companies. Management of insurance companies should promote practices that enhance optimization of informational resources.

Abstract: This research is motivated by the working from home phenomenon which is one of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the work from home system affects the consumption patterns of workers. To achieve the research objectives, data were collected through questionnaires which were distributed to workers in Indonesia who implement the work from home system. Previous studies noted that working from home will increase the intensity of internet use, causing depression problems among workers which in turn affects their buying patterns. The survey participants are 145 workers who have monthly income and have worked in the current employer for minimum 6 months. Data collected were analyzed using a quantitative method, in which the relationship between two or more variables are examined. The mediating theoretical model was tested using Process Model 4. Results revealed that workers who work from home have higher tendency to involve in compulsive buying behavior than those who work onsite. We also found that the effect was mediated by the feeling of loneliness. Theoretical and practical contributions are discussed.

Abstract: Green marketing has established as an important topic among scholars and practitioners due to its importance in supporting a better world people are living in. The karma doctrine posits that all decisions and behaviors result in consequences. This belief is widely embraced globally as shown by previous research. Despite the importance of karma belief in daily life, research on the role of karma in consumers’ decision, in particular green marketing context is relatively rare. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether belief in karma can increase the intention to purchase green products. In order to achieve the study’s goal, data from 188 adult respondents were collected in this study. The respondents were reached by the convenience sampling method. Using a quantitative method, this study investigates the existence and type of relationship between constructs; thus, the analytical tool used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). This study found that the relationship between karma belief and green product purchase intention is mediated by two constructs, namely, environmental awareness and global warming belief. Theoretical and practical contributions are discussed.
