Abstract: Since the 1980s, the global economy has shown a general trend of transition from an industrial economy to a service economy. The service industry has gradually become an important engine for world economic growth. The intelligent service industry has developed rapidly and has become an important industry to promote regional economic growth. This paper first adopts panel VAR (Vector Autoregression) and the Feder two-sector model to study the diffusion and lag effects of smart technology on the smart service industry sector itself, the industrial sector, and the entire economic system. The research results confirm that China’s intelligentization and industrialization have formed a preliminary coupling interaction mechanism. Under the new normal, the intelligent service industry has become one of the emerging drivers of economic growth, and the diffusion effect of the intelligent service industry on economic growth will take 2-5 years. Since there is a two-way causal relationship between the intelligent service industry and the economic environment, the dynamic panel sys-GMM (System Generalized Moment Estimation) regression is used to investigate the lag effect of the factors affecting the development of China's smart service industry. It is proposed to adopt intellectual property protection and a common technical support system and enhance the hysteresis effect.

Abstract: During the COVID-19 pandemic, people's health and the global economy have been severely affected. The Vietnamese government has issued requirements on social distancing, movement restrictions, etc. to minimize the impact of disease spread. This has had a great impact on changing people's habits. Vietnamese consumers have switched from shopping at traditional markets to increasingly using e-commerce to purchase goods and services to meet the needs of daily life. This has made the growth rate of e-commerce in Vietnam very fast. E-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Tiki have had outstanding growth in the number of users, the number of orders. Therefore, the service quality of e-commerce platforms greatly affects consumers' experience and usage decisions. From that, it can be affirmed that determining the factors affecting the service quality of e-commerce platforms is essential. This article identifies and evaluates the factors affecting service quality of e-commerce platforms in the context of COVID-19 in Vietnam. We have developed and tested a model of factors affecting service quality of e-commerce platforms in Vietnam. The main contribution of this study is to examine six determinants of service quality in Vietnamese e-commerce platforms. The study identifies and evaluates key influencing factors: payment methods, ease of use, security and reliability.

Abstract: Gender equality and women in particular have recently gained attention by researchers, development organizations and human rights activists. The issues around gender and the inequality that exists have been evidenced most in less developed countries including Uganda. In regard to the present paper, critical reviews have eloquently provided empirical and conclusive issues that places women at a disadvantage in economic growth and societal development. Objectively, it provides a clear sense of direction for policy review and development concerns. Various research papers, reports and findings were critically investigated and found out that women were more inferiorly treated than men, and hence gender inequality exercised. World over, stylized evidences from different models and theories recognize the role of women in development. They are into livelihood and productivity, education, agriculture and health. In the recent times, where we have high level of industrialization and digitalization, women though not fully recognized, a lot is done by them to produce and market both industrial and agricultural products. The literature outlines that dynamics and issues around gender span from the aspect of economic development, including but not limited to women involvement in resource allocation, legal structures on inheritance, power in politics and household decision making, labour and credit market access, education and others. Our review findings indicate the need for extra engagement with gender as a unit of analysis in developing nations, with further engagement on inclusive and intersectional feminisms.

Abstract: The sustainability strategy involves planning a series of thoughtful actions whose purpose is to add value, in the national and international literature several authors have worked on the subject but from the social, environmental and economic point of view, however the subject has been little treated from the management of a public institution, in this case a university, in this case a university where the development of teachers is one of the most important points in the management of these institutions. Behind any significant improvement in the university lies the activity of the teaching staff. The objective of this research is to design a strategy for the sustainability of the teaching staff at Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas. Implementing a sustainability strategy is the way in which the organization defines the path towards the scope of its mission, taking care that its impact is positive. As methodological theoretical foundations, the strategy is based on the conceptualization of the Cuban economic and social model of socialist development, the guidelines of the Cuban economic and social policy for the period 2021-2026 and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Other methods of the empirical and theoretical level were also used. Finally, a group of innovative actions contextualized to the characteristics of the institution object of practical study are described.

Abstract: It has been widely acknowledged that Small, Medium and Micro enterprises (SMMEs) possess certain attributes akin to entrepreneurship that make them indispensable tools for economic growth and development. These small businesses, however, face a variety of challenges especially at their start-up and growth phases. Several factors account for these challenges faced by small businesses. Among these factors is the regulatory environment which comprises a variety of factors. Coming in the form of high taxes, bureaucracy, labor laws and corruption (which stems from the other factors), the regulatory environment has a significant effect on the growth of the small business sector. Although the importance of regulation cannot be denied, it is critical to examine how the regulatory environment may act as a hindrance to the growth of this sector and their ability to stay in business. This study was carried out in Polokwane, Capricorn District Municipality, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The study used the quantitative research method and the descriptive research design. The stratified and convenience sampling techniques were utilized. Thus, a sample size of 121 participants was selected. Questionnaires were utilized as the data collection tool and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 25. Descriptive statistics, cluster analysis and Kruskal Wallis were also used to analyze the collected data. Results indicate that to a certain extent, the regulatory environment influences the small business sector negatively. On the other hand, the efforts and skills of the business owner influence their success and ability to remain in business and by extension the growth of the sector. As the lack of skills and managerial capacity is also a major impeding factor, training institutions should come up with better ways of training business owners to ensure not only a growing SMMEs sector, but a profitable, sustainable one.

Abstract: Communities benefit from a variety of ecosystem services provided by watersheds, which are often provided for free. Although these services have no monetary value, their economic value is debatable. As a result, natural resources are not used to their full potential, resulting in watershed deterioration. As a result, the purpose of this study is to apply the Double Bounded contingent valuation method, followed by open-ended questions, to assess households' willingness to pay for the rehabilitation of the Horuwa watershed. The study focuses on analysing households' willingness to pay decisions in order to elicit smallholder households' willingness to pay in terms of cash and labour, as well as to investigate determinants that influence smallholder households' maximum willingness to pay. Tobit regression models were used to assess data acquired via questionnaires, focus groups, and face-to-face interviews from 170 randomly selected households. The results showed that the first response is shared by 74.7% of Yes and 25.3% of No responses for watershed conservation in the double bounded contingent valuation of sampled households. According to the Tobit model, education level, household size, and annual income had a significant and positive effect on maximum willingness to pay, whereas non-farm income and initial bid had a significant and negative effect. As a result, the findings of the study imply that a household's perception of total watershed resource degradation is linked to Willingness to Pay. The findings suggest that policymakers at both the national and local levels should consider education level, annual income, household size, non-farm income, and initial bid variables when designing watershed conservation practices.

Abstract: In recent years, the financial crises that broke out in 2007 and the pandemic crises has brought forth the issue of government debt which again has drawn the attention of economists. The issue of debt becomes more complicated when the analysis concerns member states of a monetary union. In the case of EMU, the need for fiscal cooperation is essential for the stability of the union, yet fiscal cooperation is quite complex. In this paper we will attempt to estimate the size of fiscal multipliers using a VAR model for the member states of EMU for the period 2002-2019, controlling for the level of debt, size of the country and openness of the economy. Findings are in line with the relevant literature and shows that fiscal multiplier is higher in small open countries with less debt in comparison to other countries. These findings raise some important questions for the effectiveness and efficiency of fiscal rules in EMU. Given that multipliers are vary between countries of EMU, as our model suggests, fiscal rules could ultimately lead to multi speed fiscal adjustment Europe since some countries will succeed in restoring their fiscal position faster and more effectively than others.
