The Human Elements of Child Story Books

Abstract: Research has established that the transfer of knowledge is facilitated by similarity between the context in which the information is learned and the context in which it is to be applied. However, many learning contexts designed for young children reduce the similarity between learning and transfer by using fantasy contexts and or fantasy characters to teach information that is meant to be applied in the real world. Among this context the representation of human in the story plot Is an important focus thus, the general objective of this study is to assess the representation of human in Ethiopian child story books. To conduct a content analysis 30 teacher in 6 preschools rated the story books they mostly used to read or refer for story telling for children. Through this method the top rated 12 books were selected for analysis which contains a total of 97 stories. The finding indicates that majority of the story’s 60 (61.83%) bases their story’s animal vs animal character, 31 (31.95%) of the story mentioned about the family type. Among which 13 (41.93%) of them are two parents, 14 (45.16%) of single parent of which 8 (57.14%) of them are single mom and 6 (42.86%) single dad. Regarding child representation only 18 (18.75%) of them involve children in the character of the story. Finally, the finding indicates 7 (7.21%) of the story portrayed people with special need as their central character. Among which only 2 (28.57%) of story represented people with special need in a appositive way. Thus, human representations in child story books are less emphasized and many focuses are given to the anthropomorphism character.

Abstract: Three educators are given the task of completing the textbooks representing Germany by the Ministry of Education. They have a lot of discussion to find an exemplary model that young people can trust and follow in their textbook. However, despite their numerous discussions, their assessment and judgment on a role model do not reach consensus. The private stories of the main characters in this work allows us to reflect on the appropriateness and legitimacy of these characters who play a role in presenting the exemplary model to others. In other words, they must undergo a process of review by writers and readers in the process of finding a role model. This work has educational intent in that the discussion surrounding the example implies the inevitability of doubt and the impossibility of absolute truth to readers. It is natural that they can’t find an exemplary model. Because the author Lenz thought that modern people are living in a society that is open to education and that society should maintain cooperation among different forms of life in social free space. Textbooks where a variety of exemplary models are discussed and different ways of life and different modes of behavior are allowed are justified. Clearly, there is no absolute role model without any doubt, and the absolute model must always be retractable. Lenz sets the example to critical questions. He just questions and doubts. This is because he wants to teach his readers.

Abstract: Wang Shifu and his Romance of the West Chamber have been highly valued and concerned since ancient times, but Wang Shifu had not been included in the "Four Great Scholars of Yuan Drama". There have been many controversies among the drama writers in Ming and Qing dynasties, and the reasons deserve further exploration. Nevertheless, Wang Shifu's position in the history of drama would not be questioned, nor would it prevent the Romance of the West Chamber from becoming classic. In this paper, by means of comparative study, the author combs the process of Wang Shifu becoming a classic in the context of the history of opera development, and the causes of the classicization of The Romance of the Western Chamber.

Abstract: The Royal residence of Carditello, known as “ Royal Casino”, is considered one of the most beautiful and architecturally refined Reali Delizie “ville de delizie“ made by King Ferdinand of the house of Bourbon. Commissioned in the spring of 1784 for the purpose of providing necessary rural housing for the King’s animals, processing related products, and providing housing for staff, Carditello was much loved by the King. In 1787, work began on building up the small “Casino” (or “country house”) designed by Francesco Collecini. Fully furnished, the royal residence made a display of beautiful curtains, a rich art gallery and a multitude of books, as documented by the first inventory of the site, prepared immediately after its completion in 1792. In the official documents called Amministrazione di Carditello e Calvi - Conti e Cautele preserved in the Historical Archives of the Royal Palace of Caserta, there are various records that attest to the payments for work done at the apartment of the king in "Cardito" by Fedele Fischetti, and thanks to them we have been able to reconstruct the existence of works by the Neapolitan Fischetti in the Gallery of Carditello. The Gallery of Carditello, which was the main hall of the building, was commissioned and intended to be the more opulent and richer space in the apartment where Fedele Fischetti painted the frescos on the vault, drew the preparatory models of tapestries and perhaps prepared the designs for the magnificent and expensive furniture of French production.
