Abstract: This study explores the problem of optimally dynamic joint decisions: replenishment quantity, retail price and depletion time, in a vertically decentralized single-retailer and single-supplier supply chain over a dynamic multi-period planning horizon, subject to multivariate demand function and deteriorating goods with shortages allowed and with no consideration of fixed costs. This research uses a calculus-based formulation coupled with dynamic programming techniques to solve the channel-wide profit maximization under price-only contract and consignment contract respectively. The analysis reveals that the consignment contract can significantly achieve higher channel-wide profit than the price-only contract for the dynamic decentralized channel.

Abstract: Decision making failures in Kenyan Parastatal Boardrooms has more to do with independence of mind and competences as well as behaviors of directors sitting around the boardroom tables. This includes how they work together, their degree of transparency and accountability as decision-making groups and the team production culture in task performance. This study seeks to explore the influence of corporate governance on organizational performance of state corporations in Kenya. A survey design was used to arrive at the expected outcomes in this study. Out of a population of 187 State Corporation, a sample size of 125 was considered with 375 respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires. Descriptive and inferential statistics were computed using statistical package of social sciences. Linear regression model was used to determine the relationship between corporate governance and organizational performance. The study revealed that the Board Strategic Involvement, board CEO-Chair Collaboration and Board Members knowledge & skills respectively are statistically significant (P-value=0.000). This implies that the three variables together influence organization performance of state corporations and account for 68% variation on performance. Board Leadership and Board Team production Culture (together) were not statistically significant at 5% level.

Abstract: This study analyses the training and transferring of knowledge in Hoang Duong Wool Joint Stock Company in Vietnam as a case study. This case study is described and analyzed through logic of a conceptual framework of knowledge transferring from literature review. Questionnaire survey and in-depth interview methods are used to collect data and information. As a result, leaders’ awareness and commitment in training and transferring of knowledge are rather high. Besides, the training design is usually taken place according to company’s plan. Some of training contents are successfully applied. However, quantity and quality of trained knowledge application has not been high and effective. Finally, this study gives some recommendations to enhance company’s training and transferring.

Abstract: This study seeks to explore the influence of corporate governance on organizational performance of state corporations moderated by Board Conflict management Strategies in Kenya. A survey design was used to arrive at the expected outcomes in this study. Data was collected from 375 respondents with a response rate of 82.4%. Descriptive and inferential statistics were computed using statistical package of social sciences. Linear regression model was used to determine the relationship between corporate governance and organizational performance. The study revealed that board conflict management strategies are key factor in resolving conflict within the board and in the State Corporation. Once a conflict is resolved, the study found that organization performance changes by 7%. The researcher recommends application of Arbitration, Negotiation and Mediation strategies in resolving a conflict in the state corporation for the effective and efficient service delivery.

Abstract: The task of determining the optimal sizes of spare parts for an auto-service enterprise based on the maximum profit criterion for a discrete distribution of demand is formulated as a problem of quadratic programming with linear constraints. To calculate the probabilistic measure of the distribution of the values of the demand vector components, an approximation is used of the empirical distribution function of the demand components by hyper-Erlanger distribution functions, and the subsequent calculation of the corresponding distribution densities.

Abstract: Entrepreneurship has been related to the accomplishment of macroeconomic goals in economic development, economic growth and international competitiveness between countries. Mexico has needed to cope with the new trends in business management under a perspective of advancement by the use of entrepreneurship and innovation as a way to achieve these requirements, this has generated the incipient need to stipulate public policies that contribute to an effective administration of these trends. However, despite of the efforts, the dynamics of adherence to innovation and development of technology-based companies still rests on limited indicators that have not contributed to the achievement of the macroeconomic objectives raised around the theme. On the other hand, China has been able to contextualize properly its private capital investment initiatives. The public policies are focused into stimulating and strengthening the emerging economic sectors, so they have been characterized by contributing to the research and development of new products and services. This, has generated an effective international positioning in virtue of the competitiveness of its sectors and economic growth attached to a propitious usage and application of both variables. The comparison of both realities allows an approach to the maneuvers that have been carried out in Mexico and China to glimpse opportunities and threats in the manipulation of these factors, that vary according to the specific environment and context of each one of these countries, in the face of the emergence of world markets which denote a closer link between government and industry in the achievement of sustainable and strengthened economic sectors.
