Abstract: The combined jib of a crane is a complex system, its mechanical analysis modeling is difficult, and the efficiency is low. In this regard, it is researched that the object-oriented programming technique is applied to truss crane jib modeling. Proposing a generic modular truss jibs modeling based on parametric modeling for rapid modeling method and providing a new method for truss boom system simulation design is necessary. The development and design of truss boom system time can be greatly reduced by using the modeling method in the paper. The design efficiency can be improved significantly. This paper takes the VisualBasic as the programming platform making the truss boom of the all-terrain crane as an example to verify the effectiveness of the new modeling method.

Abstract: This study is aimed to clarify the mechanism of wolfberry fruit and leaf extract’s regulation of lipid metabolism, and to provide the necessary theoretical basis for the possible uses of wolfberry fruit extract as drugs improving lipid metabolism. We have investigated the effects of wolfberry extract on the proliferation and differentiation as well as lipid metabolism of preadipocytes on cell level, and have evaluated the influences of wolfberry extract on obese mice body weight, oral glucose tolerance and blood glucose. The comparison between the effects of different parts of wolfberry and the combination of experiments of cell and animal level are done for the first time. Results show that: neither wolfberry fruit nor wolfberry leaf has toxicity on 3T3-L1 preadipocytes; wolfberry extract can promote adipocyte differentiation and intracellular lipid accumulation, while wolfberry leaf does not have such effects; fruit extract can improve the C/EBPα, PPAR-γ gene expression levels and activate the transcriptional activity of PPAR-γ, while leaf does not have such effects; both wolfberry fruit and wolfberry leaf can reduce the blood glucose and improve the oral glucose tolerance of obese mice, and wolfberry fruit has a stronger effect, but in the meanwhile they also increase the mice’s body weight. Based on the results above, we can conclude that wolfberry fruit extract ingredients can regulate glucose and lipid metabolism to some extent. Thus, it has the potential to work as a kind of medicine to improve lipid metabolism and to cure type 2 diabetes.

Abstract: Many scenes of interest to computer graphics applications contain a large number of dynamic light sources. Lighting is computationally expensive because it implies solving a visibility problem for every point light source. We present a method for voxel based approximation of the geometry of a scene. The ray is intersected with the approximation to accelerate the visibility determination. The scene geometry is approximated with a 2D array of voxelizations, with one voxelization for each direction from a dense sampling of the 2D space of all possible directions. The ray/scene intersection is approximated using the voxelization whose rows are most closely aligned with the ray. We support dynamic scenes with rigidly moving objects and complex dynamic scenes. The results of our experiments show our method can render scenes containing thousands lights.

Abstract: The carbon fibre has a good characteristic of electrical conductivity. When cut short and dispersed, it reacts as electric dipole or harmonic oscillator to radar wave. This paper blends the short carbon fibre with ethoxyline resin, and makes films by spraying the blend on prepreg which made by glass fibre and resin, then measures the EM parameters with the free-space method, and designs the low reflectivity absorbing material from 8GHz to 18GHz by matching impedance and calculating the reflectivity of multilayer films. Adjusting the kinds and quantities of matching layers can shift the absorbing frequency bands, and become better absorbing respective in X-band and Ku-band. The absorbing material samples are made by vacuumizing and heating method, and their reflectivity correspond to the designed result. The designing method and absorbing material made in this paper can be referred in engineering application.

Abstract: Taiwan is situated in the seismic belt and belongs to the subtropical climate. The abilities of heat insulation and seismic resistant of buildings in Taiwan were become more and more important. Fundamentally, it should develop a new materials suitable for use in hot and humid environment. This research aims to study the engineering properties of the wood-wool cement and compare with those of traditional building materials. The test results show that the unit weight of wood-wool cement boards is about 615 kg/m3. The wood-wool cement boards collocate with the light-weight rigid frame and paste those construct the wood-wool cement light wall, its unit weight will increase to about 1580 kg/m3; Compare with the unit weight 2300 kg/m3 concrete, the unit weight of wood-wool cement boards and light wall will decrease 73% and 31%, respectively. The wood-wool cement light wall is not only beneficial to convenience of construction but also increase the load-bearing capacity of buildings, future more, it is contribute to reduce the seismic force. The thermal conductivity of wood-wool cement boards and the wood-wool cement light wall are about 0.09 kcal/m-hr-°C and 0.58 kcal/m-hr-°C, which compare with the test result, 1.25 kcal/m-hr-°C of concrete with compressive strength 210 kg/cm2 are obviously decrease. As bending strength and wind pressure test that we know, the wood-wool cement light wall is worse than reinforced concrete. But the mechanics of the wood-wool cement light wall corresponds to the wallboard strength requirement of Taiwan Building Code. From the economic analysis, the wood-wool cement boards possess higher economic benefits due to better energy efficiency. As we know from the above, it can be expected soon to use the wood-wool cement light wall in buildings.

Abstract: Environment of communication, traffic density and other factors have a significant impact on the signal transmission of Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET). Therefore, a suitable mobility model is of great importance for the design and performance evaluation of VANET protocol. In this paper, we expand the IDM_LC model by considering the real features of vehicle mobility and introduce the avoidant behaviors for special vehicles (e.g. ambulances, fire engines, etc.). We propose a mobility model calls IDM_LCA, and complete the simulation scenarios using a network simulation tool –NS3. The experimental result shows that the mobility model IDM_LCA is effective and feasible.

Abstract: The pollution caused by oil extraction waste water to the environment has gradually caused the attention of environmentalists; high salinity oil extraction wastewater will also cause soil salinization and bring great harm to the environment. However, due to the lack of the standard data and instructional experiment methods, the environmental protection department can’t set up formal system of desalination processing. In this paper we give the mathematical model for the simulation of the salinization process caused by the discharge of salt-containing waste water, and explain the application of Hydrus-1D for simulating water and salt in the soil on the basis of experiment data. The water content of soil samples is measured through soil-column experiment and salt content is simulated with Hydrus-1D according to the experiment results and model parameters and the composition of the bottoms of soil immersed in the salt solution. The application of Hydrus-1D for simulating water and salt in the soil determines the boundary condition and initial condition of the simulation, and the model parameters are corrected based on the experimental data of water content and salt content in the thirtieth day. The basic soil water movement equation are Richards equation and van Genuchten-Mualem model, and the basic soil movement equation is advection-dispersion equation for simulating; upper boundary condition is atmospheric boundary, lower boundary is a constant flux boundary, i.e., the initial water content, the initial salt content. The model parameters have adaptability and representative for simulating water and salt in the soil.
