Abstract: This paper tries to investigate the determinants of profitability for Bangladeshi private commercial banks. The return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) are two important variables that have been used in this study to indicate profitability. The study considered a set of independent variables such as bank-specific factors that comprise bank size, capital adequacy, asset quality, liquidity, deposits, asset management, operational efficiency; and macroeconomic factors such as GDP growth rate, inflation rate, interest rate and exchange rate. The data for 25 private commercial banks from Bangladesh over the period of 2012 to 2019 have been analyzed. Overall, the findings are satisfactory. The capital adequacy ratio, asset management ratio and GDP growth rate are found to have significant positive impact on ROA and ROE of the private commercial banks in Bangladesh. The asset quality, liquidity and deposit ratios also have a significant positive impact on ROE; and an insignificant positive impact on ROA. The cost to income ratio and bank size both have a negative association with ROA and ROE. These imply some sort of scale inefficiencies and problems in minimizing costs associated with increasing equity. The conclusion prioritizes that the financial sector authority in Bangladesh should continue their current role towards having a sustainable banking industry and thus having the economic growth, welfare and prosperity of the nation.

Abstract: Nowadays it is essential for tourism companies to provide increasingly personalized services, and to do so, the quality of the customer experience at an end-to-end level must be improved in every possible way. Customer journey mapping has become one of the most innovative and effective techniques to increase companies' knowledge of their customers. While traditional approaches provide an incomplete view of what actually happens during the journey and the inflection points that determine customer behaviour, a new technique has now been developed that, coupled with CJM, addresses all these limitations: process mining. Process mining techniques use the event logs that store customer decision information and provide a comprehensive map that describes customer behaviour during the stages of the customer lifecycle more effectively than previously employed approaches, not only in terms of the end result, but also in terms of resource savings. This paper shows the application of process mining to analyze a sales web logs to map the customer journey. By means of a case study, in a receptive travel agency, the results of the use of these techniques are presented, discovering the processes that better describe the traveller's behaviour and finding useful insights to improve the customers experiences during they stay in the destination Cuba.

Abstract: All most all projects that are development oriented in different areas and different countries, even if they are completed, they will not be successfully implemented on the scheduled time or may not be on the budgeted time frame or they will not be on the expected quality due to different factors. The major objective of this study is to determine factors that affect the successful implementation of development projects in Amhara national regional state. To come up with this objective the raw data was collected from Amhara building construction enterprise, Menkorer constriction enterprise and Amhara national regional state administration office. The researcher used a mixed research approach which is both quantitative and qualitative research approaches. The sampling technique used was Stratified judgmental non probability method to select proportional number of samples from the target population of the study. The raw data was analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis method. The findings of the research output were identified as problems which are related with the release of project funds on time, shortage of raw materials during construction and poor project planning and preparation negatively affects the successful implementation of development projects within the region. After identifying the problems based on the output of the study, the researcher suggests the most possible ways to alleviate the problems.

Abstract: Poverty is getting a serious social problem in the world and drawing attention of the international community for global solution. It remains challenging particularly in Developing Countries. Ethiopia is among the countries which, striving toward alleviating the problem for many years; however the problem has still persisted and caused many suffering. This study was carried out in Silte Wereda of South Nations Nationalities Regional State (SNNPRS); specifically, the study aim at measuring the magnitude and identifying determinants of poverty in the Wereda. Thus, to meet these objectives, primary data was collected by structured interview from 365 selected sample household. Thus applied descriptive statistics and econometric (logit) model in order to identify the poor and non-poor; analyze the incidence, depth and severity of poverty; and associating livelihood capital with rural poverty have been made. In setting poverty line, Cost Benefit Necessity approach was employed. This has been done by using basket of food items actually consumed by the households and converted to calorie. Based on this, the total poverty line was estimated to Birr 4,380.00 adult equivalent per year, out of this Birr 2,989.50 for food poverty line and Birr 1,390.50 for non-food. The Foster-Greer-Thorbecke (FGT) Poverty Index result shows 41.1% of the sample households have lived under the poverty line, the total consumption required to lift up the poor households to the poverty line is 11.3%, and poverty severity is 4.3%. The binary logit regression econometric model result indicated that out of the twelve variables which included in the model, seven explanatory variables were found significant up to less than 5% probability level. Accordingly, off-farm and non-farm income, educational level, access to credit and contact of agricultural extension worker, ownership of livestock and cultivated land were found as theoretical expectation statistically significant and had negatively association and family size positively associating with the status of poverty of rural households in surveyed area. Thus, promoting education, family planning, diversification credit accessibility, linkage between rural and urban, strengthens research extension-farmer linkage and productivity of land suppose to be policy intervention for targeting rural poverty.

Abstract: Green tea is obtained from unfermented tea leaves. This product is typical of the use of tea in China and Japan. This study examined the green tea consumption and its determinants in Taraba State, Nigeria. Respondents were selected in the study area using Multistage sampling technique. Three villages were randomly selected; they are Mayo-kusuku, Kakara and Kasalasah. Information was obtained from the respondents using well structured questionnaire. Information was collected from 128 respondents and the information collected was used for analysis. Analytical techniques used in the study are descriptive statistics, composite score analysis and ordered probit regression. Sixty seven percent of the respondents that consume green tea are above 30years. The mean age of the respondents is 41years. Majority of green tea consumers are male (92.2%). Majority (89.8%) of green tea consumers in Taraba State are farmers. Also, in the study, 94.1% of the respondents said that they consumed green tea while 6% of the respondents do not consume green tea. The reasons why they do not consume green tea are: they do not like it (2.2%), they do not have money to buy it (13.2%), they do not know where to buy it (7.4%), other reasons (0.7%). Eighty six percent of respondents reported that they consumed between 1 and 7 sachets per week, 8% consumedbetween 8 and 14 sachets per week while 6% consumed more than 15 sachets per week. Sixty two percent of the respondents are in the low level meaning they consume between 1and 2 sachets. Twenty seven percent are in the medium/intermediate level. Respondents in this level consume between 3 and 10 sachets. Twelve percent of the respondents are in the high level meaning they consume between 11 and 36 sachets of green tea. Age (β=0.03), sex of respondent (female: β=1.07), location (Kakara β=1.03; Kasalasah β=1.27) improved green tea consumption while occupation (technical/craftsmanship: β=-2.92), price of green tea (β=-0.29) reduced green tea consumption. This study recommended that appropriate measures should be put in place for farmers to reduce price of green tea so that more people can buy and consume green tea.

Abstract: Under the “new normal”, China's economic development mode has shifted from scale and speed to quality and efficiency, and the development driving force has shifted from mainly relying on factor inputs such as resources and low-cost labor to innovation driven. Therefore, it is particularly important to correctly understand the different promoting effects of human capital on economic growth in different stages of human capital development. Consequently, the panel smooth transition regression model was used to study the threshold characteristics and regional differences for human capital of mental quality and physical quality to the economic growth from 1982 to 2019 in China. The results shown that, the mental quality and physical quality of urban and rural have nonlinear effects on economic growth, in addition to the model of physical quality of urban has two system, the other three models are three system. Except the effect of mental quality of rural on the economic growth inhibited the transformation of restrain to promote, the effect of rest of the models always shows promotion performance, along with the promotion of mental quality and physical quality of urban and rural, the promoting effect of economic growth is gradually strengthened. The stimulating effect of mental quality and physical quality of human capital on economic growth exits regional difference, the role of human capital on economic growth is more obvious especially in the eastern coastal areas and relatively developed areas of economy.
